Cryptocurrencies, followed around the clock

An overview of a market that never closes, with AI doing the watching. Aureo Flowdex follows the prices, volumes and volatility of major cryptoassets through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, and turns them into summaries and, if you choose, automated orders. Cryptoassets are high risk and you can lose all your capital.

What are cryptocurrencies?

A cryptocurrency is a digital asset that exists only as an entry in a shared ledger. That ledger, called a blockchain, groups records into blocks and links each block to the one before it, so any attempt to change history would have to change every block that follows.

Because nobody owns the ledger, the price is not set by a company or a central bank. It comes from the balance of supply, the number of tokens available, and demand, how many people want them right now. When demand outruns supply the price tends to rise, and when it falls short the price tends to drop.

If you are new to the idea, our Crypto basics page explains each term with tables and diagrams.

Why people take an interest

Four reasons come up again and again in conversations with new clients.

A market that never sleeps

Trading runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week. That is useful for people who work odd hours, such as shift workers, and it also means prices can move while you are away from the screen or asleep.

Large trading volumes

The biggest tokens trade in very large volumes every day, which generally means orders can be filled quickly, although not always at the price you expected. Volume is one of the things the engine reads, because a move on heavy trading means more than one on a handful of orders.

A way to diversify

Some investors hold a small slice of cryptoassets next to shares and cash. Diversifying can spread risk but never removes it, and cryptoassets are among the riskiest holdings you can choose.

AI as an analytical tool

Watching a round-the-clock market by hand is tiring. The AI engine reads it continuously and tells you what changed, so you can decide with a clearer head.

What a 24-hour market means for you

The London Stock Exchange closes at 16:30 and reopens the next weekday. Cryptoasset markets do not. A price can move at three in the morning, on a Sunday or on Christmas Day, and there is no opening bell to mark where the move started.

That cuts both ways. It gives automated tools more to watch, and it means a position you opened on Friday can change a lot before you look at it on Monday. Three settings matter most for a market like this:

  • Daily loss limit: stops new orders once a set amount has been lost in a day.
  • Market pause: halts trading when volatility goes beyond a level you choose.
  • Overnight alerts: choose which events are worth waking you for, and which can wait for the morning email.

All times in the dashboard are shown in UK time, and switch between GMT and BST automatically.

Cryptocurrencies tracked by the platform

We only list assets we have confirmed. Quotes against US dollars are shown on the market ticker at the top of every page.

AssetTickerWhat it is
BitcoinBTCThe first and largest cryptoasset, often used as a benchmark for the rest of the market.
EtherETHThe native token of the Ethereum network, which also runs applications built on top of it.
SolanaSOLThe token of a fast network designed for high volumes of low-cost transactions.
XRPXRPA token used mainly for moving value between financial institutions and across borders.
CardanoADAThe token of a network developed through peer-reviewed research and gradual upgrades.

A live reading

Price, 24-hour change, trading volume and a volatility label for each tracked asset, refreshed continuously.

A plain-language note

A short summary of what has changed since you last looked, written so that you can read it in under a minute.

Alerts you choose

Notifications for the moves that matter to you, such as a volatility spike or a daily loss limit being reached.

The assets are named for information only. Their inclusion is not a recommendation to buy or sell any of them, and the descriptions are simplified.

Risks that are specific to cryptoassets

You can lose all of the money you put in. Cryptoassets are not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, and the Financial Conduct Authority tells consumers to be prepared to lose everything they invest in them.

  • Prices can move by double-digit percentages within a day.
  • Exchanges can be hacked, freeze withdrawals or fail altogether.
  • A lost or stolen key cannot be recovered and a transfer cannot be reversed.
  • Rules and tax treatment can change, and a new rule can move prices overnight.
  • Smaller markets can be thin, so an order can move the price against you.

The full list, with a practical step for each, is on the Risk disclosure page.

How the AI reads the market

The engine looks at five things, side by side, for each tracked asset:

  • Prices: the level now and the path it took to get there.
  • Trading volume: how much is changing hands, and whether it supports the move.
  • Volatility: how sharply prices are swinging compared with normal.
  • Trends: whether recent movement points up, down or sideways.
  • Asset dynamics: how each asset behaves relative to the others.

From that, it produces a plain-language note and, if a strategy is active, orders that stay within your limits. Analysis based on past data cannot predict what comes next.

Who it suits

Newcomers who want it simple

If you want to follow the cryptoasset market without learning to read charts, summaries and a named manager lower the barrier. You do not need to know what a wallet or an order book is before you register, and the terms are explained as they appear.

Experienced users who want help

If you already trade, the platform tracks several assets at once and keeps a clear record, while the decisions stay with you. Many experienced users value the report history, which makes it easier to review what worked and what did not, and to keep tidy records for tax.

Questions about cryptocurrencies

What are cryptocurrencies, in one sentence?

They are digital tokens whose ownership is recorded on a shared ledger instead of by a bank, and whose price is set by supply and demand on open markets. Bitcoin is the best known example.

What does a blockchain have to do with it?

A blockchain is the ledger itself: a chain of linked blocks of records, copied across many computers. It is what lets thousands of strangers agree on who owns which token without a central record keeper.

Which assets does Aureo Flowdex track?

The list on this page: Bitcoin, Ether, Solana, XRP and Cardano. We only list assets that we have confirmed, and your manager can tell you if coverage changes. Tokens with very little trading are deliberately left out, because thin markets make both analysis and orders less reliable.

What kinds of operation can I carry out?

You can monitor markets, run strategies that place and close orders within your limits, and review reports. Orders are executed at your connected exchange through a key with read and trade permissions. You can also leave everything switched off and simply use the tracking and summaries.

How do I withdraw money?

Request a withdrawal in the dashboard once your identity is verified. Funds return to your UK bank account, PayPal or card, taking from within 24 hours to 5 business days.

Who helps me if I get stuck?

Your personal manager, then the support team by callback or by email at [email protected].
